We are a 40 member, all career fire department covering a population of approximately 15,000 people.  The Long Beach Fire Department prides itself as a progressive department, with well trained personnel.  In addition to fire suppression, our services include emergency medical services with  registered emergency medical technicians, hazardous material response, confined space rescue, rope rescue, and a dive rescue team.  The fire department also provides fire education classes to both adult and children audiences.  All three stations throughout the city are manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
